When Ubuntu uses EFI instead of the BIOS it can solve the driver problem and so on.
I also think that it will be easier to install Ubuntu on a Mac.
Apple's OS X already use EFI.
The BIOS is very old and and EFI will be it's successor.
EFI will also have a lot of other possibilities.
