The Epson Stylus CX3900 all-in-one is a popular model in Latin America and Australia. There are official free drivers available at http://www.avasys.jp/lx-bin2/linux_e/spc/DL1.do for both the printer and the scanner. But they are not yet available in Ubuntu.
