2007-02-12 ogra: along the work on implementing such an auth mechanism i stumbled over a bunch of issues with pam and pam_mount that should be adressed before. (a package needs to change files in /etc/pam.d/ (via sed or replace them) for a change in the selection of auth modules, there should be a more proper plugin mechanism for that, i'd like to prepare something in this direction before going on with edubuntu-auth-server in feisty+1)

2011-10-22 jonathan: for 12.04 we're planning to have the client setup part running well in Edubuntu. I think this would be great to revisit for 12.10, especially since free-ipa might be ready in Ubuntu by then.
