Folder actions and workflow support

It is not as cool as 3D graphics - but a cool differentiator for desktop operating systems in an office environment.
I would love to see something similar to MAC OS X's Automator and Folder Actions. User can compose Workflows based on simple Actions. Those Workflows can be tied to a directory / folder. User can choose to easer have the OS triggering the workflow upon receiving a new file in that folder, or that the user can trigger the workflow manually.
