Edgy Accessibility (new applications)

Registered by Henrik Nilsen Omma

In the spirit of the Edgy release we should try out some new assistive technologies. There are several new components to be tested in the screen reader stack, including Orca, Speech Dispatcher and speech engines like Espeak and Festival 2. There will also likely be a new keyboard and magnifier. These must all be packaged for Ubuntu, tested and ideally moved into main so they can be used in our default offerings.

Whiteboard

Set to informational because it reads like a discussion topic; if there are specific items to be implemented, they should be split into separate specs

heno: Not sure if an informational spec needs to be 'Implemented', but the major new apps did land in Edgy.

2008-05-29 heno: Orca and Espeak have been implemented, as have other cool technologies like eZoom, colour filters and mouse-tweaks.
