Giving some attention to Enlightenment 17 and perhaps even creating a distribution fork
Enlightenment is a very smooth, fast and intuitive desktop. While enlightenment 16 leaves some to be desired, enlightenment 17 has had over three years of development put into it since enlightenment 16 was released. Unpon release, I believe that you will find that enlightenment runs extremely quickly and stabily. Nearing it's release, with a little help from the ubuntu team, enlightenment could easily be ready for release with edgy. If you have never used enlightenment 17 (even if you have used 16), I recommend that you download it and try it. Being the fastest and lightest window manager I have ever used, I believe that giving some attention to the enlightement project would be to ubuntu's benefit as it has the beauty and funtionality fit for a mac user while still maintaining the configurability and useability of a linux or windows user. Currently there are some (unofficial) repositories available to dowload enlightenment 17 http://

I found a very interesting thread on the forums reguarding this topic. It may be found at: http://

Hasn't this been done already by the gOS team?
It's unofficial but still, it exists.
