Nontechnical users need to be able to change a basic set of firewall rules. Most users who surf the net don't need to be able to setup a full fledged firewall with three different network connections like a server administrator. Most users don't want to know how this can be done. They want to do it. A simple GUI makes them able to set their rules as a frontend for iptables. Simplicity is the concept here.
