GUI for mounting/formatting harddrives

Registered by emil.s

As administrator of Ubuntu swedens forum, i read a lot of post everyday, and of course i'm seeing which problems which is more common than others...
And one thing is harddrives. If i put in a new harddrive right now i have to install Gparded or something like that. (fdisk and mkfs.*). But it isn's something for beginners, right? ;)

So a nice GUI for managing harddrives (and of cource USB memmorys and suchs to) would be realy nice. Change mount points would also be nice.

Whiteboard

Great idea. Maybe I am taking this too far, but a simple a python/ruby script can be built and set up with cron to keep track of the hard drives currently present in the machine. When a new hard drive is detected, it will pop up a very user friendly screen with all the options (format, partition and format, etc...). It could be a daemon or some other form of a script.
