Driver Center where you can manage drivers.

Registered by Tóth Csaba

In System Settings a menu named "Drivers" or "Driver Center" where drivers can easily Manage(see what driver is in use) Install(from the internet* or from file) Uninstall(uninstalling not working drivers) Update(update to the latest stable driver)

Yes the linux kernel already have lots of drivers... but for example there isn't musch printer or scanner or fax drivers....
and when a new ubuntu released some drivers lost (example: I update to 11.04 and my scenner doesn't working but in 10.10 it works...) this old drivers should placed in this driver center on the internet.

My idea is to create an online driver center (where lots of drivers have placed... created by company or by individual person.... of course the drivers get there after testing.... exclusively for ubuntu) example in lauchpad.
(So if its on the internet SOME drivers can be removed from the kernel => get more free space on the installation cd - this is another idea)
The "Driver Center" app will download the appropriate driver for your hardware from the online driver center...

This should boost the user number of ubuntu... and this is very comfortable for users and for companys
(I am talking about a fully automatic process... download drivers from the internet... not like windows: this driver bad that driver bad... all drivers have tested and working....)

Every begginer will grateful for it i think... and everybody else of corse:)
Yes this is a very big and expensive plan but it can show a return in user numbers....
