Drive "desktop metaphor" beyond.

"The Apple approach" of organizing files with different apps (~one app for each type of file: gnome-documents, gnome-music, ...) is a bad approach, because it forces the user to organize his files divided by type, and maybe that's not the user wants. It's useful for finding files, but not to organize them. (Corner example: What if I'm a fan of, say, Star Wars, and want to keep all the stuff related together?). I believe the "Desktop metaphor" can be driven beyond. The Desktop could bring tools to help the user organize his files and other resources the way he wants. The folder was a good start, but it can be improved with more tools: labels, boxes, covers, media supports (vynils, tapes, cds, ...), etc.
