Digital Media Readers (aka SD/MS/MS Pro/MMC/SM/XD Reader)

Nowadays, every laptop comes with a built-in Digital Media Reader, i.e., a slot where you can plug in your Memory Stick (Pro or not) or SD or MMC or SM or ... from your digital photo camera, or from your MP3 Player, or from whatever gadget using. The problem is that current Ubuntu versions do not immediately recognize these digital cards when you plug them in. I guess there is some configuration that has to be done (still by hand).
Actually, up to today, I haven't yet been able to put my KUbuntu to automatically detect --- let alone mount and read/write access --- my Memory Stick.
I think this feature should work "plug'n'play" right after the OS installation.
Keep up the good work! ;)
