Dual monitor support

We made great progress on supporting a secondary monitor with Ubuntu 11.04, but there is still more work to be done. In particular devices with ATI cards are (at least sometimes) problematic and the process of configuring the dual-monitor setup is not nearly as easy as it should be. The previous specification for Ubuntu 11.04 often cited use cases that involved suspending the laptop when connecting and disconnecting the secondary monitor. This is one part of the use cases, but we should look at supporting use cases where user does not need to suspend. In addition, the use of a docking station is of particular interest (though possibly more complicated).
