pitti, 2010-01-25: Since this means a structural change, let's get this in for alpha-3.
pitti, 2010-04-02: Postponing design review; we can't redesign simple-scan at this point in lucid anyway any more, so this can also wait for lucid+1.
pitti, 2010-04-13: Design team is informed, but it's not a priority. Also, there already have been some design related fixes earlier on, so let's drop this. It's good enough for lucid anyway. :-)
