Which desktop search tool? Should it be enabled by default?

Jaunty stopped shipping tracker by default, and in intrepid it was turned off by default. Do we want to consider switching to beagle? If not, what improvements can we make to tracker? And should we turn it on by default? What about integration, can we do more with that to make the desktop search in ubuntu more useful.

Whiteboard
Please note that the plan for GNOME 3.0 is that the new Shell and Zeitgeist will integrate search, tags and timelines into the standard experience of the desktop. So I don't see this task as specific to Ubuntu at all. Just ship Tracker and GNOME will be happy! ;-) (Milan Bouchet-Valat)
