Control and consistency: Ubuntu own Apps
A few weeks ago i read this idea in the Unity Design mailing list...
Now there a few apps developed by Canonical: Software Center, Ubuntu One, System Check (?), and the Unity UI.
But companies like Apple, Google and Microsoft control their systems developing all the apps of the OS, for consistency with their other devices.
Look at the iPad, in the first year just the basic apps for view content, but now there is a huge new apps for create content developed by the same company.
CONSISTENCY INTERACTION
I know that GNOME it's creating a new range of new apps like Web, Photo, Video, Music. But that apps are for their enviroment: GNOME Shell. And Unity is a different interaction of that UI. Unity is expanded for other devices: TV, Phone, Tablet. We need consistency apps for Unity, same design and interaction.
Ubuntu needs control. Control of their own apps.
