Help new users with the console

I think it would be nice for users who never seen the console, having a hint to a file where some important commands are listed. It could be like this:

"Some important commands and tips are listed in the file help.txt in your home directory. To open it enter 'less help.txt'!"

Firstly it should be explained how to use less :)
I think hints on the following commands would be useful:
- ls, cd, man, cp, etc.,...
- man intro
- How to setup a network connection
- Links/Lynx to get help via the www
