Confirm a correct password when using 'sudo'

When using the sudo command in a terminal, it should immediately confirm if the password was entered correctly. Currently, if an incorrect password is entered, there is a few second delay to prevent someone brute-forcing the password. However, there will also be a delay if the command entered into sudo will take a few seconds to open, and sometimes these are hard to differentiate between. In many cases, I will enter a password, then my attention elsewhere only to remember 5 minutes later to check and find that my command was never executed. This particularly would apply to any command or script that was intended to run without any input from the user.
