Whiteboard

Session notes:

 Matt Revell:
 - Working on the Launchpad Translations roadmap
 - Would like to get top 3 list of features for the Ubuntu Translations community
 - Would like to hear waht would make translators life easier

 Kyle Nitzsche
 - Finding translations stats for typical desktop GUI (install from cd) user (not for all of ubuntu)
 - Finding where translations are done
       - For example, dejadup upstream hosted in Launchpad shouldn't be translated in
         the Ubuntu package
- Leading translators to the top priority templates to translates
Status of important translations is available at
http://people.canonical.com/~dpm/stats/ubuntu-11.10-translation-stats.html
Problems
- Stats reported on LP doesn't reflect the actual experience (Example: Arabic: 29.7% (LP) vs 85% (approximation of the user experience)
Action bucket for Precise
- Support selected universe packages in language packs
- Move dpm status to https://translations.ubuntu.com
Matt: would like to see priorities that address making everyday translation work easier
Plan is to
Work items:
dpm: review the list of of 3 wishes to focus on everyday translation work at the UI level
Priorities:
DPM: Feedback is top priority. LP should be more social for translators. Community should take place in LP itself.
Milo: Feedback is top priority. Second priority: package set views or something like it.
Quintsan: Improved notifications/dashboard.
TLE: Feedback, translation memory, some type of package-set view.
Kyle: see above.

(action item moved to the main translations roundtable)
