CD/DVD build process improvements

The current CD building process has some limitations which slow down development by lengthening the CD test cycle. This is especially problematic as we approach release deadlines.
jigdo is extremely slow. Can we run it later, after the ISO has been generated, so as not to block further work? Can it be made faster?
Currently, we can only run one CD build at a time. Can we run more than one in parallel for better throughput?
Sometimes, bugs are encountered during release certification which only affect a single architecture. We should be able to rebuild the ISO only for that architecture, and carry the others over as byte-exact copies, to avoid additional test cycles.
