Bulletproof gnome session
Session not able to start because of rights messed up either by users or upgrades glitches is somethings that ubuntu should and could get rid of.
Too often i see users with missing rights on the .ICEauthority file which leads to not being able to start a session and leave the ubuntu install in an unusable state.
The known causes of this are the use of sudo for some graphical apps or upgrades glitches for what users have no responsibility.
What i'd like to propose is to either detect the .ICEauthority rights issue on the fly in session error log after a session crash and automatically set the good rights on the file or add an option in the recovery mode menu like "fix session issues" which would do some basic check and solve common session issues like missing rights on .ICEauthority.
The goal of this is to make the beginner user able to fix such problem without being forced to get some knowledge about it.
Believe me this simple thing could really enhance the ubuntu experience of some beginner users, i have had to fix one of my friend install again lately because of this issue after an upgrade so this could be a possible enhancement for ubuntu.
