1) Above is a great additional goal, in reality, accomplishing one, really means accomplishing the other.
2) I have proposed this for discussion at the next planning meeting. I'm not restricting this to just the gtkfilechooser integration, I think talk of how Beagle's extremely extensible architecture can be put to use is important. Beagle offers potential for some really awesome applications and user experience, but Beagle is far from complete. The Beagle developers would love input on what a desktop wants from a search/metadata engine, and know what developers need to consider integration into more applications. (aka. Evolution, Gtk, Gaim, Nautilus) as clients and not just datasources. Beagle has robust up-to-date indexes of a considerable amount of desktop data, it would be great if more applications could capitalize on this powerful tool and avoid their own slower and less accurate searches.
