Comment 8 for bug 160862

Ubuntu 8.10 (Ubuntu Studio) -- Users and Groups just wiped my group file. I managed to find an old backup of the file but now everything else is broken: Wireless, sound; nothing has the right permissions to run. I go from a fully working system to a complete wreck just by adding one user. It took me months to work out how to get everything working properly.
