Still not fixed in 2.6.32-27-generic-pae (Ubuntu 10.04 up to date) nor 2.6.35-24-generic (Ubuntu 10.10 up to date).
I get:
grep R6040 /boot/config-2.6.32-27-generic-pae
# CONFIG_R6040 is not set

Why the Kernel Team don't compile it as a module?
