Also have this kernel panic... been years since i haven't got one.
strangly mine occured when i added to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
to my section device for driver fglrx.

# will be disabled automatically
# Option "OpenGLOverlay" "on"
I can boot X but i launch xine, it creates almost immediately a kernel panic.
switching the values above on/off doesn;t create the issue
