Building copies-and-fills on Ubuntu

Registered by Martin Wimpress 

Raspbian includes a package called copies-and-fills which provides optimized implementations of memset, memcpy, memcmp and memmove for ARM1176JZF-S and Cortex A7. These are provided by way of /etc/ld.so.preload

Currently building copies-and-fills in a PPA segfaults because I think the build system uses qemu. Are there compatible native build servers available?
