Optimizing the manual file size

The manual needs to be small if we want it included on the Ubuntu CD. Being a young project, unfortunately we don't have the priority to go on the CD instead of other things, so we need to squeeze in there! Therefore, we need someone to work on optimizing the PDF and images so that the overall manual is as small as it can possibly be, without sacrificing quality.
