An E-mail service for each user

Registered by khalderon

During registration the user can specify whether an e-mail service will be activated for the subdomain. That is, each user can have its own private E-mail server, being independent of commercial E-mail providers. The E-mail service to be used needs to be specified. Choosing the right E-mail must be done with care! POP3 and SMTP should be also enabled for it.

Btw, why am I unable to register blueprints in the frontend? There is where I should be participating!

Whiteboard

I changed the priority to essential, because a hosting without a good e-mail service is not that useful.
bobbo: I changed priority to high as things like naming etc. are currently more important than setting up an email system

[Awalsh]:
So basically a POP3/SMTP account setup should be allowed for the subdomain?
Do we need any kind of webmail interface?

Could you please add more detail please. AFAIK you don't assign blueprints to any category/team its to the whole project.

Actually it is not that important. But the user should be able to setup a mail service on its host. I am not even sure how is this done. Sorry for my neglect, but I am still unsure how to use the launchpad. I may make mistakes here and there, while testing.

I am wondering if email is actually necessary at the moment. As I see it the main goal of the project is to provide free hosting for humans with the ability to use HTML, PHP and MySQL on the websites. E-mail seems to me like an unnecessary complication at the moment, as there are plenty of good quality free email providers (perhaps not all "for humans" and free). Perhaps this could be delayed until after everything else is set up? Especially as nobody seems to know the best way to do this.

You are right. Let's finish building the core first.
