One mechanism to do a backup is to take a snapshot of the storage volume. You would restore by cloning the snapshot and instantiating a new volume from it.

This BP is being filed merely to indicate that I'm investigating this capability. At a later time, a trove-spec in the trove-specs project will be filed.
