Boxcaring or buffering registerRegion and beginTransaction requests with the commit/abort should improve performance by reducing pathlength and dispatches, particularly over Seabed and the JNI interface within the TM. Under load we see requests queuing up against the transaction object in the TM including the commit/abort which suggests that processing registerRegion requests in the HBase-trx client library takes considerably longer than we expect.
