Registered by amjjawad 

We are here for a brainstorming session regarding the 'default installer' for ToriOS:

There are four possible options:

Option 1: Ubiquity

Option 2: OBI

Option 3: Text Installer (same as Alternate/Mini ISO installer)

Option 4: 9w

[Nio 2014-03-08] {
The 9w 'NioWill' installer will work very smoothly at 256 MB, where
standard desktop installers with Ubiquity have problems, and alternate
(text) installers might or might not work depending on the memory
management (for example zRAM), and the amount of drivers.

9w needs no zRAM at 128 MB.

Of course, each option has its own Up and Down. Therefore, we shall discuss everything here.

I am interested in OBi installer, I have never even heard of it. Does anyone know of a walkthrough vide, so I can see the ease of use. Ubiquity is an easy installer. It can run into problems dual-booting. However, if the goal is to replace XP, that should not be a problem. Linux lite, made for a similar reason. Has had good luck with the Ubiquity installer. https://www.linuxliteos.com/manual/install.html#updates

[amjjawad] I am not sure who made the above ^^ edit but there you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2BYU0_3mUY - yes, I know I look so bad, that was a bad day without sleeping :)

[JackT] The first edit above about OBI was probably made by [Brian Kanto].
Also, I wanted to make people aware that the OBI installs systems as TARBALLS...the tarballs are described as "new tarballs at the final stage of an OEM install by Federico Leoni"; that is the status quo; the OBI lead developer may invite others to provide further tarballs at some later stage. Just wanted people to know that the OBI does not install .iso files. I hope that is clear.
