Allow timekpr to tell apps that they're going to be shut down

Registered by LTSmash

Hi,

I was thinking that while the are the popups, maybe if a user has to leave the computer for a while and then his time is over, all his work will be lost (.e.g. OO Writer being shut down when an unsaved important document is open)... so maybe some system should be implemented so that timekpr can tell interseted apps that the session is about to be closed, and to save documents for later recovery, I know you can't probably code 3rd party apps, but maybe this could be archieved as plugins for important apps? I can only think about OO as being the most important for this...

Sorry for the late reply, thank you for the blueprint and the plugin idea! Doesn't openoffice already have a recovery system?
A big "Maybe" by myself for this blueprint. Perhaps as a plugin, but not in the near future. :)

Also a big "Maybe" if openoffice and other apps respond gracefully to kill command signals like "1" or "2".

Finally, food for thought: iterate over all user processes and "ask nicely" ("kill -1" or "kill -2")
