Sender, Date and Subject in Two-Lines

in Outlook the middle-column shows the messages in two-lines (Sender and Date and beneath the Subject) according to the width of the right column. (http://mailchimp.blogs.com/blog/files/outlook2003_3cols.gif)
i think that it was one of the greatest feature for a much better and clear view.
also the icons in front of the mail-line take very much room, that was also much better solved in Outlook (http://visionfactory.net/images/stories/outlook.png) it's behing the two-lines and the attachment-clip is in the second line at the end of the subject.
