To be able to assign user-configured text to function keys

The user would be able to assign arbitrary strings to the function keys. When cliking any function key, that string would be feed into the terminal (with an optional carriage return). For repetitive strings (logins, passwords, etc) it's a big time saving. Something similar to what other products like Ericom PowerTerm have.

How about integration with gnome-keyring for passwords and etc?
