Feature that allows to replace (selectively) unstudied/1/2/3/4 jlpt level kanji with hiragana.

Registered by Dmitriy

It would be nice if there was a feature that allowed for whenever a search is done in tagaini, only studied or certain jlpt/grade level kanji are used, and the rest (unknown) kanji are replaced by hiragana. (This would allow to focus on learning the sound of words, and not be disctracted on additionally learning a new kanji).

Whiteboard

Not sure about this one - there are furigana that already allows to read the words, so why would one want to remove the display of some kanji? Tagaini is supposed to help you learn new kanji, but you have no chance of noticing them if there are hidden...

For example, it would be useful in following way.

1. If a word is composed of a jouyou and a non jouyou kanji, sometimes there are many ways to write it. In a lot of japanese literature (newspapers and such) the kanji is generally limited to jouyou kanji.

2. If a person is studying, say for JLPT 2, about 6000 word knowledge is required, but only 1000 kanji are required. Some of those 6000 words can be written using kanji other than these 1000 kanji, and even kanji that are not jouyou.

Some people might prefer not to learn uncommon kanji, and the way the program is now, one has to check the frequency ranking of every kanji one does not know yet.

This option (NOT enabled by default), would enable more focused studying, by focusing on most common words and kanji first.
