Easy way to find latest version of softwares

The default repository may not contain the latest version of an application .
-- Example - Firefox latest version may not be available from the default repo . But it may be available from the Firefox specific repo . ---

So
1. Add a tag to application to indicate the repository , where the latest version is available
2. Allow easy installation of the application , on users choice , directly .
3. Use help from Launchpad to prepare the tags .
