Provide an Alt+F2 alternative
Elementary currently lacks Alt+F2 functionality. We should fix that.
The reasons for having alt+f2 are:
1) It's a way to launch something and don't have a terminal window hanging around
2) It's a common shortcut for running a command

It was decided that we solve problem #1 by adding a "send to background" option to tabs in pantheon-terminal and problem #2 by assigning Slingshot in more or less "command mode" (e.g. visual history instead of apps) to alt+f2 combination.
IMHO we don't need this if slingshot has command-launching functionality (which it now does) and keyboard shortcut launching (which it doesn't, yet). ~cassidyjames 20110908
