This describes the current state of the setuid trunk.

setuid is a simple program to run a command as root, if the sticky bit has been properly set. It was written in the mid-90s, so it needs lots of work to be "up to standards" of today's Linux utilities. Also, it needs: review for security issues, I18N, more flexible search for user data file. Here are the current features: run a command, including parameters, as root. Add users to be allowed to a data file.

Whiteboard

This spec is really just a summary of the first upload of code to Launchpad. The program is functional and useful to some, particularly when building server-side functionality on UNIX machines.
