There is also something by the abiword project (abicollab), It is just an example of how doing this. -- tintou

Yes but isn't the gobbi's text editor way better to handle collaborative text editing ? - swizzle

gobby uses libfinity, the lib I want to use for Scratch. -mefrio

I think Scratch should use telepathy tubes it's a modern tool for collaborations. Even LibreOffice has a branch for it maybe we should wait until LO comes with something useful.

Another possibility would be to make use of Daniel's recent social platform (currently it's a mockup).

I think it's probably out of the scope for a text editor. IDE or word processor, yes. Text editor, no. I doubt anybody would use it either.

I'd use it. I'm teaching my friends how to write Lua code and being able to work with others on one editor would be helpful (currently having to use Stypi). Is it out of the scope of the software? Up to the elementary devs.

I don't think it's outside of the scope of Scratch (which btw is basically our IDE). It'd be really helpful to be able to show someone a piece of code I'm working on without having to make a branch
