Whiteboard

An alternate description:

Students will use this tool to choose courses. With "smart" capabilities such as an awareness of graduation requirements and career pathways, the scheduler will aide students in choosing their courses, helping them avoid choosing courses for which they do not qualify and making sure they do not miss taking courses which they need for program completion.

This Blueprint relies upon two pieces of technology: 1) A course database, which is now prototyped in Filemaker, but will be written into the SchoolTool course object; and, 2) a Student Elective Planning Guide (SEPG) application that is on its third version and has been written in .NET. The course database communicates to the SEPG through an XML export. This export must take place automatically and be ready and waiting for the SEPG when it is launched.
