Estimate: 4 hours (+4 for class/stream version)

Student report card now finalised - am sending in an email

Fran: I can't remember what this looks like when it is generated, but if there aren't already, could we also put filters on so that you can choose to generate either all students, or by class or by stream?

Yes, we could have one version of the report which is based on the person's view, and a year level report (run from School) with a dialog where you can select the class and/or stream.

Fran: Not sure I understand the difference? Do you mean that there is a
+ way to access a single student report from the individual student
+ profile, and that then there would be the report which can be run which
+ could either be generated by class / stream in the usual way the
+ filters work e.g. for assessment reports.

Yes.

Fran; just saw the revised estimation - I don't think we need two versions (and I don't want to pay double for it) I just want us to be able to generate all the report cards with a filter so that we can choose which sub-section of students appear. Could you also confirm the order that they will appear in (By stream, then alphabetical?)

I would rather have the bulk version, than have them appear on the student profiles as schools won't want to generate the report cards one by one (and I think the in bulk version is the way report cards are generated at the moment, right?!).

Tom: Currently PEAS just has the individual version. If we have to revise the layout anyhow for the stream version, there is no significant time savings in not applying those changes to the individual report (and we'd need to remove the existing individual report to prevent confusion). There is a fair amount of overhead involved in making a group pdf version that can be run over levels and streams, 4 hours, easily.

We don't have any opinion about exactly how the report should be sorted, etc. Just let us know exactly what you want. Do you want to be able to select a level (class) and stream at the same time? We can sort them however you want, just let us know for all the possible combinations of streams and levels (e.g., if it is all students, sort by level, then stream, then alphabetical by last? name).

Fran: really? I was pretty sure there was a button for student reports that gave the report card for everyone. I can't check though as I can't access any of the demo instances.

Anyway, ok that's fine then.

For the sorting on the reports:
Two filters:
By class (with options for all, then the list of classes)
By stream (again options for all, then the list of streams)

Order
If all students then, sort by level, then stream, then last name
If students in a class then sort by steam, then last name
If students in a stream, then sort by last name

Thanks

Douglas: writing down the issues we need to fix for Friday:

- Scores should be absolute scores pulled directly from the gradebook
- The subject grade column should use light grey as background
- The text in the class average column should be in grey and italics
- The numbers used in the table headers under each sheet name and total column will be requested to the user when the report is generated
- Remove the All value from the Level dropdown in the request view
