Add Platform Independence

The code should compile under Unix (Linux, Bsd etc.), Windows and MacOsX.
The easiest way to do this is probably to use cmake as a build tool.

Cmake shall be used in order to provide a platform independent build system.
The code must then be compiled under linux, macosx and windows xp and the binaries provided for public reviewing/testing.
