Ubuntu uses a brain damaged notification daemon that breaks functionality. Don't use it.

Registered by Justin Clift

Ubuntu have decided the (working) notification-daemon doesn't offer functionality they want, and have instead created their own brain damaged version with critical (basic) stuff stripped out. i.e. following time out notifications, so when we're doing screenshots notifications aren't on the screen

Future Salasasaga packages will have to have a "depends" on "notification-daemon", plus some way of marking the Ubuntu provided "notify-osd" as a conflicting package.

Whiteboard

Added code to detect and work around the limitations of the Notify-OSD daemon instead. It's a severely reduced functionality, but at least it now works and gets the notification off of the users screen by the time the screenshot occurs.
