Replace the Sahana's Home Module with a Dashboard

Registered by Tim McNamara

A dashboard would enable information from the whole situation to be surveyed at a glance. It will also provide a lead-in for the modules themselves. Think iGoogle for Sahana.

Whiteboard

I would like to create a user-friendly interface to Sahana. This would mean that most of the application's functions are available from the Sahana homepage, rather than deeper in the application itself.

Phase One
Bring situation mapping, request/aid module messages to the front.

Add a space for superusers to include "mission overview" and "key objectives" in the home section.

Phase Two
This would create an API, which would allow developers to create module specific widgets, in a similar manner to iGoogle.

Phase Three
Create a few example widgets. Weather forecast, twitter, SMS module.
