Windows-Specific Releases

Registered by Chris

At the moment, after only three releases, there are already problems with running it on Windows. While there's an Answer for it (https://answers.launchpad.net/ruby-coreserver/+question/67391), it's worth noting that if there was just a Windows-specific version, that handled that kind of thing without having to patch each installation manually, it would be that much easier.

Whiteboard

15 April 09 - kidko: 0.6.5 has a check to see if the script is being run on a Linux system. It will only run the "whoami" snippet if RUBY_PLATFORM contains "linux" (via the regexp: /.*linux/)

14 April 09 - kidko: 0.6 will have a release targeted at Windows systems. It doesn't introduce any drastically new code, or at least none that is system-dependent, so the changing of it will be easy. As for the rest of the CS releases (0.6+), we'll just wait and see.

14 April 09 - kidko: At the moment, the only problematic lines are the ones dealing with "me" and the "whoami" command... I believe they are 131 to 135.
