Capability to burn music files on data CDs

Registered by bojo42

You can burn audio cds with Rhythmbox, which is quite nice. But you can't burn data cds full of music files.

But burning data cds with Rhythmbox would be so cool, cause you can search through all the tags and just copy very selective. When using Nautilus' CD creator it's much harder, cause music files are often stored like ~/Music/Artist/Album. With 1 album for each artist you just grab the artist folder, that's relative pain free. But which more than one you have to drag'n'drop the artist folder and delete the album folders you don't want or you copy the wished albums and create an artist folder on the cd. As you can see this not so pain free and it's getting even more complicated when you're more after single songs and not only albums.

Burning a created playlist to a data cd in Rhythmbox would be far easier and the UI could also be very intuitive. Just like with audio cds + the option which file/folder hierachy should be used. The overall filesize for the playlist is already displayed in the status bar.

So it shouldn't be to hard to code, just integrating Nautilus burning capabilities (AFAIK). It seems that the Rhythmbox developers had another opinion http://mail.gnome.org/archives/rhythmbox-devel/2003-October/msg00069.html , don't know if they have changed their minds on that. But today most new cd players can also play mp3 and some even ogg vorbis, so neglecting data cds as audio medium is maybe not the best way to go.
