Vortex gravity

Registered by David Barker

Gravity that spirals objects around it as they approach - this could be accomplished by making the attractive force tangential to the gravity point, and adding on a small radial attractive force to ensure objects are still sucked inwards.

Whiteboard

UPDATE 22/07/2010: The approach of adding on a small tangential acceleration is iffy at best, and it takes a lot of messing with values to make it work reasonably well. Therefore, it will now work completely differently from the PointGravity: the magnitude of the force will be based on the centripetal force required to accelerate a particle towards the centre at a specific rate (supplied through a parameter - 'radialacceleration' or something), and its direction will be chosen to ensure that particles move around the gravity in a circle (where particles are moving perpendicular to the gravity's direction normal this should be directly towards the gravity, and where particles are moving towards or away from the gravity this should be tangential).

UPDATE 25/07/2010: Altering the direction of the force in the aforementioned way gives incredibly strange results, so instead the force will now be directed towards the gravity's position at all times - this has been tested and appears to work well.
