Enhance leg gap current
Comment from user is that he wants leg gaps cut per-course, so he can cut gaps where legs cross.
In the current version of Purple Pen, leg gaps (as well as leg bends and leg flagging) apply to all courses using that leg. There isn’t a way around that in the current program.
There are a couple of different ways to address this:
1. Add an “Add Gap for This Course” command, that allows the user to add a gap in a leg that only affects a single course. This is most flexible, but complicates the user interface to the program somewhat and generally seems to make cutting gaps more confusing (and it is already confusing to people as it is).
2. Have the program automatically add gaps to legs when they cross other legs or control circles. This is easier for the user and doesn’t complicate the user interface. However, the risk is that it doesn’t fully satisfy: some people might not want such gaps, or the gaps might not be the size desired, or so forth. I think I can make this work pretty well, though.
Personally, my philosophy has me leaning toward solution 2 and not have a manual way to cut gaps on a per-course basis. But I’m not certain this is the right choice.
