The goal of the Gumshoe project is to create local area network search engine suitable for business environments. The idea is to create a search engine capable of intelligently indexing file systems, email stores, web pages and databases. It will need to support user authentication and be cable of filtering results according to some sort of access control list. It will need to support the creation of custom query types that return results via user defined report templates. It will need a simple easy to use dashboard administrators page to manage it.
