Basic Concept
2D clients view from the top, 3D clients can view more freely. The probe (camera) can be set loose, however, to scout the map.
Two teams fight each other, to destroy their enemies' base. Once the enemy's primary base has been destroyed, the game ends, and the surviving team wins. Each team controls a number of minor bases with automatic turrets and one primary base which is the spawn point, the shop and the bank of that team. The primary base has significantly more turrets than the minor bases. In order to attack the primary base (it is invulnerable per default), the team must destroy all of the enemy's minor bases.
Once a new game begins, you start off with a Poddie with almost nothing "equipped" and a number of credits to upgrade it with. Amongs these upgrades are: Engine, left turn, right turn, brake/backpedal and various weapons. Some of the upgrades are interior and thus not visible on the Poddie, whilst others (such as engine and weapon upgrades) are clearly visible on the exterior.
Instead of a regular score, Poddie will only show a "chance-to-win" percentage for the entire team, based on kills, deaths, towers destroyed and how it is distributed among the team. The score is thus purely to provide the players with statistical information on how well the entire team is doing, and not on an individual basis - to emphasize teamplay and reduce the farming seen in many games.
