Integrate Phatch as utility in Thunar
It would be nice to get Phatch blessed as xfce's official batch photo processor.
They already have support in xfce for python, and I'm sure they would welcome the app.
What would be really slick is to talk to the Thunar (xfce filemanager)
folks and get Phatch integrated the same way the batch rename utility
did.
With that you just select multiple files and then in the Edit menu you are presented with the Rename" option. That launches the Batch Renaming utility.
I would LOVE to see such an elegant integration of Phatch and Thunar in the future.
Just select two or more image files, and in the Edit menu be presented with the option "Batch Process Photos."
Currently with Thunar you can add custom Context Menu actions where you can specify that a script or command be run. This will have to do until more meaningful integration can be arranged.
Keep your eyes posted on the wiki for an upcoming How-To on that.
STANI: In case they don't want the dependency of python-wxgtk, they could also use the patch console version which only requires python-imaging. A small dialog could be implemented to choose the recent action list from ~/.phatch/
Whiteboard
As I provided the best integration as possible in thunar already, I consider this complete. What concerns the official blessing of Thunar, that should be a blueprint for Thunar, not for Phatch as there is nothing I can do about that.
